The Long Version
Hello and welcome to Version 1.1, which comes with a browser release.
Please note that this is my first time attempting a browser version of a game and there may be unforseen issues.
If issues persist, please try the downloadable versions and let me know the problems you ran into.
The biggest change in this update to the game itself is the efforts at utilising RenPy’s self-voicing code to make the game accessible for those using screen readers and self-voicing when they play. This is a change that many won’t even notice, but the ones who need it certainly will, and that’s why it was important. Perhaps a boon for me is that because of the way the story is set up, some things are naturally narrated through the textboxes anyway, like chapter ends and moments in particular scenes. Still, 1.0 wasn’t at a state where it was entirely playable for people using those accessibility features. Priority in development was given to the most important parts that would affect play; the choice menus, minigames and descriptions of characters. I’ve included a screenshot below of the code for the button-mash minigame, which is now entirely guided to ensure that if people want to play them, they can. I also added self-voicing for the splash screens that introduce the game and the credits.

There are still some pieces of the game that are lacking self-voicing support, such as descriptions of the CGs and background art. Still, I’m glad that I could push this update and make the game at least functional for those with visibility needs.
If you use this feature, please let me know if there are any issues or better ways to apply the features. I don’t have a playtester and I struggle with audio processing issues, so I’m very aware it may not be a perfect job right off the bat. (I’m going in blind, if I may make the tasteless, awful joke.)
The options menu has also had some additions with toggles to the custom cursor and more font choices being available.
